new revelation

Today, was a day of reflection. With almost everyone writing their personal messages to all our tutors for the past 2 years (with some teaching us for less than that), but most of us seem to have loads to write anyway. Me, i never knew i could be so long-winded while i saw myself writing super long messages to teachers (especially for ms lio cos kelvin told me to juz fill up the space) sometimes i'm juz crapping, but what to do, these messages are supposed to b part fun part serious anyway :P

Nest, the revelation. I don't know why this revelation though important seemed so unimportant in my life now. I felt weird when the information was released and i just took it as it was, not feeling particularly sad or anything, makes me feel kinda weird especially since this person was an integral part of my life for quite some time :/ Rather confused now, don't understand why i took it so calmly and composedly, perhaps I've already gotten over it? Or perhaps I just accepted the fact that some things in life are not meant to be.

Once again, for the second time in 3 days, I ended up in the movie theatre, together with wu lei, heex, kun man, bernard, kelvin, ming sing, azu and thomas. This time, we watched the second 5-star rated movie by The Straits Times - Ratatouille. I would dare say that it is EXCELLENT!! Full of laughs and humour, while the short film before the movie - Lifted is just totally hilarious!! Watching a trainee alien trying to abduct a human, but having him smacked around the house and finally crashing the spaceship into the ground was so totally classic, it seems that the trainee could do NOTHING RIGHT, which made it all the more hilarious. Haha.. Furthermore, the person that was on the verge of being abducted looked like the main character in ratatouille (mayb that's why he couldn't cook!). Remy is so totally soft toy material, as I have said countless of times. I wouldn't mind getting a soft toy looking like that :P Overall, i would say the movie did deserve its 5-star rating. many laughs in the movie ensured that the audience was constantly entertained by the antics of both mouse and human, the plot was good with a few twists and turns made to leave the audience either having a deeper understanding of the plot OR leaving them with another bout of uncontrollable laughter, especially with BOTH bernard and kelvin sitting side by side, imagine the volume of laughter. The food in the movie looked good enough to eat, so much so that most of the people left for S11 right after that to satisfy their hunger. Kun Man being the funny person that she is wanted to catch a rat when she saw one scampering around on their way to S11 (How can u be so evil?? Didn't you see how the rat looked when it got caught in a trap? Later u get tied up and thrown into the refrigerator then you know :P)

Well, now in real time, someone is messing around with nationstates and i think that its totally nonsensical. So much for keeping promises, or repaying debt, or being united with the class. Some people just don't get it that the way that they are treated is mainly due to their own actions and behavior AND they should reflect on it before they start confronting people claiming to be ostracised and backstabbed and blowing situations up for no good reason, but they seem to fail to realise that everything started from them AND there's something known as cause and effect in this world and since they caused something, they have to face the effects of it.

post prelim activities

2 down n 10 to go.. that's the number of prelim papers we have left, but who cares if we still have 10 papers left? the post-promo activities have already started! the most activity in which has had the highest participation so far would be that of having mass muggin sessions in the library where one could find at least 6 lovelies around and about ddep in thought and busy cramming information into their brains..

other than that, there's also the movie watching activity which was attended by heex, thomas, wu lei n i.. watched bourne ultimatum and personally, i felt that the movie was a blast! though i didn't finish reading the book, i seem to know what happened throughout the story, it flowed so well that it made understanding easy as well.. wu lei who didn't like violence would have rated the show one-star due to the numerous hand-to-hand combat scenes as well as the car chases, furthermore, the action seems to go too fast sometimes that it has a giddying effect. Thomas felt that movie was ok, not deserving of 5 stars, but not bad nonetheless, and also commeneted that people who didn't like violence will have a hard time finding good movies to watch.. heex was unavailable for comment..

number 50!!

50th post of my blog.. haha.. dunno why i'm here bloggin when prelims are like next week.. but since i'm here, i'll do a short post..

Well, one of the occupations that i really have respect for are the comic strip illustrators.. thus the comic strip segment of my blog on the left. I really admire them as they have to think of a new strip for everydya of they year, meaning at least 365 comics.. and furthermore, there are the Sunday comics which are longer than the usual dailies that consist of 3-4 frames, while Sunday comics are usually at least 5 panels or juz one gigantic one.. the prospect of having to think of something new everyday is really daunting.. We all have trouble juz thinking of the same stuff everyday what more make life more complicated by thinking of a new issue to not only talk about but address through drawings?

Sadly, like most other things, good things come to an end. For example, Bill Amend now only draws Sunday comics for Foxtrot which is like one of the all-time best comics (at least for me). So although the characters in the comic strips do not grow old as the years go by, the creator of these comics do and this is undeniable. Imagine a life without the fun and colour of comic strips (although dailies are black and white) which are able to make you laugh or think of an issue that was raised in it. It makes you think bout stuff u dun normally think about and even allows you to relate to the characters (most of the time).. many other comics are relatively new like Pearls Before Swine which addresses daily questions and brings out the humour in everyday mundane occurances.

All in all, i feel that comics are an integral part of our (or my) lives and i so want to be a comic illustrator (since i already have a comic character named after me AND YES I came first) but sadly, my drawing skills just cannot make it :( owellz, i'll leave it up to the professionals for now :)

yay!!

YAY!! got my specs back at last :P can see properly again.. no more having to squint at the screen and still b unable to see the words/numbers (as azu would know since she was there while i was like half-blind) and no more blurry vision (that's why i was trying to wear my specs less today cos i was starting to have a headache).

Anyway, i saw my friend, Shuting, on tv juz now for like 5 secs.. she was answering some random qn for some channel 8 food show.. was stunned for like a while before i got sane enough to pick up my phone and ask her bout it.. after recollecting, her first qn to me was.. 'did i look ugly?' once again i got stunned.. haha.. was thinking that that's such a 'girl' thing to ask but answered her anyway.. haha.

In addition, Tim Chow as well.. wad's with RJ people and prata? watching the show juz now made me hungry, so i went to eat prata!! (no i'm juz kidding -.- went to eat like fruits.. haha..)

alone

well.. this has two meanings.. as most people know, i'm home alone once again.. third time this year.. lol.. parents are somewhere on a bintan/batam (dunno which one) resort relaxing with my relatives while i'm stuck in singapore muggin till my brains rot.. i believe that's the case for most people with the increasing number of mini-tests that need us to mug for each and every one of themif not we'll feel like totally screwed if you know wad i mean.. prelims are in like 2/3 weeks time and stress is juz slowly but surely piling up.. sigh..

other meaning... this afternoon, watched 'alone' with wu lei and its this thai horror film that has the same producers as 'shutter', this other horror movie AND both are GOOD!! anyway back to 'alone', its a reasonable horror movie with a seamless plot. Never expected the twist that followed as the movie went on, though the horror parts were mostly predictable... the usual coming out of the mirror, alone in the lift, turning in bed when u hear a noise behind you scenes. MANY minor details that can be remembered now make sense after the movie like a puzzle, you slowly gather the pieces and finally see the whole picture after everything is laid out.. its difficult to express in words how the whole movie just fit together nicely. only after re-thinking bout the movie do you realise that the director actually made subtle hints bout the impending twist. Overall, very good movie =)

Think this is my 6th(or more) movie of the year.. with The Bourne Ultimatum and Ratatouille coming up, they'll juz add on to my list.. haha

childhood shows

I've been contemplating on writing this for a long long time. At last i decided to juz sit down for a while and do it.. hope you people like it..

First up, we have out favourite purple dinosaur aka Barney!!

Who doesn't remember this firendly purple dinosaur that can turn from a soft toy a to a talking moving dinosaur that towers over every1? I know that i really enjoy the shows when i was young. Up till now, i'm sure that this is for most people who actually watched the show, the ending song is still stuck in my head...
I love you. You love me. We're best friends like friends should be. With a great, big hug and a kiss from me to you. Won't you say you love me too... darn catchy song.. haha.. here are some youtube videos that feature the opening and ending songs of each episode.. ENJOY!!

I love you, you love me..

Next, we have our two yellows friends and their bear buddies aka The Bananas in Pyjamas!!!

These two bananas juz rock! They are like so perfectly twins that they know what the other is thinking, especially when they come up with an idea.. haha.. Who doesn't love them when they go 'boing' and says
B2: Are you thinking what i'm thinking B1?
B1: I think I am B2!
B1 & B2: Its party time!!!

then they go off doing some random stuff to the teddies or to Rat.. haha.. totally loved this show.. Look at them! Don't you think they're like cute and all? haha.. sadly, there are no more merchandise based on the two of them that can be found in Singapore anymore.. like.. so sad lor.. they look like soft toy material!!

Last one for now is everyone's favourtie. Its been around since my uncles, aunts and parents were children. The classic children's show: Sesame Street!!

To me at least, the 2 characters above are the cutest of the lot!! Elmo is this red fuzz ball who has this cute high pitched voice and understands goldfish language!! all i've got to say that elmo's cute!! Lala Lala, lala lala. Elmo's World! Lala lala, lala lala. Elmo's World!
Elmo's Song!
As for ernie, he's hilarious!! he lives with his roommate bert and ernie manages to tick him off everytime. The way he does it is so innocently funny that you love him straight away. Also, he has his favourite rubber ducky!
Ernie's Rubber Ducky!
Ernie's attempt to fix a TV
Not to say that the other characters are not cute or anything, but these 2 are my favourites =) sesame street i believe would have evolved over the years and up till now, from what i've heard, the fun parts of the show are slowly being corroded away to remove negative connotations.. for example, cookie monster is now unable to eat cookies as it would breed i sense of gluttony in children, but that juz removed the fun from the show, to me. Well, this is all for now =)
