teachers' day 2007
Today's teachers' day, the actual one, though all the stuff that's emo and all happened yesterday (for obvious reasons). I would concur with every one's view that we're really lucky to have the bunch of teachers that we have. Looking at some of the other tutors, I sometimes wonder how they actually survive their lessons.A fun-loving and caring econs tutor, who's also our civics tutor, Ms Lio lets us run free most of the time, cancelling Civics so that we can have a break in the morning and replenish out energy through class breakfast and occasional games. On the econs side, though we don't usually meet up to expectations for tests and exams, she never fails to push us on and encourage us, never giving up on us no matter what the situation. Cos she's so fun-loving, the lovelies decided to add on to her growing LARGE soft toy collection by giving another marine animal to accompany the turtle given last year :P
Another fun-loving tutor, Mr Chan, who watches Bleach but refuse to admit it during lessons (for reasons i don't know of) and is easily provoked into an uncontrollably fit of laughter which in turn brightens up the class to sometimes very boring bio lessons/topics. With his trademark finger to temple movement whenever someone bombs him with a question, it is no wonder the lovelies bought him a massager (though why a back one I have yet to find out)
Our math tutor who has loads of brain and is full of jokes that cmi, presenting Ms. Chua! Her intelligence is just overflowing from her brain, having gone to both Cambridge AND Harvard for her undergrad and post grad studies. In addition to that, she makes us all envious in 2 ways. First, the ability to remember handphone numbers of almost everyone in class (and i'm quite sure its not only our class that she remembers). Second is that she has visited almost EVERY SINGLE country there is in Europe and also the cooler places in US.. woah.. though she got a calculator from the lovelies, i'm quite sure she'll spend more time thinking of jokes bout it than using it.. :P
Our favourite Winnie the Pooh tutor, Ms Lee, is famous (or infamous but i still think its famous) for her Pooh bear slides and antics. Anytime someone sees a chem presentation with Pooh bear, its definitely Ms Lee. Even the people who don't know her will ask, 'Are you referring to the Winnie the Pooh one?', showing how she has made an impression on us impressionable kids. The lovelies gave her a Winnie the Pooh head rest (or is it a bolster) together with a mini Pooh tied to it, perhaps it may be overdone since Ms Le even uses Winnie the Pooh custom made ALPHABETS!!
Last but not least (cliche intended), we have our GP tutor, Ms Uma, who made it known to us recently that if she gets reincarnated, she would like to be a cat, especially a Persian cat cos those have very good lives. Thus the cat theme of presents which included a cat beanie and a whacker with the shape of a cat. Lovelies tried unsuccessfully to fool Ms Uma that hitting the beanie with the whacker would create a Bernard-like 'ek' sound since she found out it was bernard all along in the end, but it was worth the try, especially her first expression of cluelessness when bernard's 'EK' was too soft -.- haha..
so sums up a fruitful teachers day (mayb we should have just given them each an apple like in Snoopy and other cartoons with teachers). Finally, i would like to thank all of them for all the work they have put in so far to help us to mature and grow as people as well as supporting us all the way (at least i hope so).
