What's the probability of sustaining an injury when you're doing sports? -(1)
What's the probability of aggravating an old injury during sports? -(2)
What's the probability of both of the above occurring on the same day? -(3)
What's the probability of (2) and (3) happening two days in a row? -(4)
What's the probability of (2) happening at the exact same place AND time (holidays)where you last had the injury? -(5)
What's the probability of (4) AND (5) happening?????
sigh.. that's basically what happened to me over the course of the past 2 days.. the 'catalyst' of the events would hav to be PE -.-" heard a crack in my left knee during the last kick of the game, and without heeding advice and 'warnings' being thrown to me bout not going for floorball, i went n aggravated my injury and had to rest for the rest of the day.. haiz..
Floorball comp the next day, can't say it was a total waste, since we managed 2 draws and 2 losses, not a very good result but the first match i believe was the most exciting of the lot.. hehe.. was a repeat of the liverpool-ac milan final in 2005 where Bennett's team went up 3-0 before we fought back till the last hit to draw 3-3 (courtesy of me!!!). Next match was a disappointment, should have won especially since i scored the first goal, only to lose the lead and go down 2-1 through laggy goalkeeping.. sigh. got trashed 5-1 in the next match to the eventual group winners and drew the last match 2-2 after leading twice.. total goals conceded-12, total goals scored-7. Not bad i would say for a 3-man team that hasn't exactly been training. sickening thing of the day was the injury during the second match that sort of decapitated me for the rest of the matches. With compunded injuries and without subs, wad was i to do? owell...
Slacked for the whole of yesterday, and plan to slack the whole of today. it would be a good time to start sorting out my stuff for studying tmr and at least get started b4 wasting my time going to the SRP congress where i wun b doing anything at all.. -.-"
ups and downs of friday
well.. there's good news and there's the not-so-good(BAD) news.
As always, lets start with the BAD news. EDB challenge was screwed up! not being sour grapes or anything cos we didn't get in(of course we're disappointed), but it was the way the challenge was conducted that pissed off the whole group.
First, one of our judges came in after 80% of our presentation was complete, furthermore, acted as though it was our fault that she came late OR that we were scums that actually dared to start presenting without her. The SHOCK came later during the Q&A session when the same judge DIDN'T, i repeat, DIDN'T know the criteria for the challenge -.- DIDN'T know bout the 10k budget that we had.. was like WTH!!!
Second, results were released yesterday and wonderfully, they ONLY inform the groups that managed to get into the finals, the rest were left to wonder whether they got in or not.. talk bout responsibility. If i had't enquired, think many groups now would still be wondering.. Also, they selected only 3 groups(excluding the 'special' group) instead of the mentioned 6 groups. WHAT A RIPOFF!!!
Third, as i enquired further, realised that out report was judged based on the opinion of students!!! It was a revealation that made me change my attitude from resigned, to FREAKIN PISSED!!! To rub salt onto the wound, i found out that it was the opinion of the guy that wasn't there for the starting part of our presentation where our foundation was laid, and because of that, our project was written off -.- WTH!!
Overall, as xiaoyu said, it was a learning experience of sorts and we know that we've done a great job. out of the 5 of us, i would say that xiaoyu was the most affected, but we can't blame her. We were all expecting to get in but the result was unexpected. After talking briefly to her, she said she's ok, but hope she really is
Now, for the GOOD news. Del Fuego 07!! GE concert ROCKED!!! was like the turning point of the day (though it was at the end of the day =p) Many many performances put up by the GE people, NEVER did i expect there to b so many solos and group performances and only 2 ensemble pieces.. lol.. too many good things to describe bout it that i'm not going to do it.. haha.. i'll leave that to the GE people. many many imba groups of people, eg Chin Heng + Ben Low + Yu Zhuo (3 of the fastest players in our batch), solos (Hyqel, Yu Zhuo, Lingting, Khartik and Edmund) and many others... haha.. you have to be there to understand.
days past and present
well.. up till now, i still think saturday was the best day of the week. First was KBox to celebrate mingsing's bday, in which most people sang like once or twice into the mike, but other than that, it was basically the same people who did the song choosing as well as singing, but who cares? as long as it was fun and enjoyable. Enabled us to think of something else other than sch work or edb or anything else for that matter, it was juz... FUN!
Had to rush to Junction 8 to buy flowers for Kun Man and Wu Lei, and also cos we left KBox at the bare latest of 630pm, when dancenite starts at 730. mayb we shouldn't have left so late, but well, as mentioned above, it was fun! for Kun Man, we pooled money to buy a Sunflower, which was almost as big as Xiaoyu's face (haha XD) and for me, bought lei a rose (cos i had no idea wad she wanted anyways). Rushed all the way to sch, with Xiaoyu clinging onto Xinwei for dear life as she brisked walked on heels (haha, darn i feel evil). Finally, after the hour of mad rushing, we managed to reach the PAC on time.
After all that speculation about dancenite, i can't say that i was disappointed with the performances put up at all. =) the chinese dance SYF piece was beautiful and i think i can say it was the best piece of the night, followed closely by grafletti and the chinese dance j2 piece (forgot wad's the name of it >.<). Think almost every1 enjoyed it throughly, especially the dancers.. Its kinda a mixed reaction when u've performed ur last concert for ur cca, like half nostalgia and half sadness, but i think nostalgia won in the end.. (heh, at least that was wad i felt when i was in guitar in RI). Post-concert activites had my name totally striked out of them. Couldn't go for supper with class or wu lei cos my doggy at home was starving (but so was I!!), so i didn't have much of a choice but to head home. After everything was settled, talked till 1am over the phone, with it auto-offing like twice btw the conversation (dam irritating -.- i shold change phone soon. BAH). oh! and NADAL OWNZ!!
Sunday was drab. spent almost the entire day, from 930am-615pm at heex's house doing edb. almost 9 hrs worth -.- brain very nearly died after that. ernest, mingsing and xiaoyu arrived at heex's house after me in that order, with each person being even later than the first. at the end of the day, at least we were productive and managed to figure out most of wad we wanted in our report to call it a day by 6 (ernest left at 4 for some personal reasons =p) Isn't this fitting? a short summary of a drab day
Today, yet another drab day of edb, with ns checkup in the morning. Killer bus ride of number 57 from depot road to bishan took 2 freaking hours!!! sat on the seat till my butt felt like it was rotting or something. the best news when i stepped into RI and called mingsing? he said i didn't have to be there -.-" grrr.. anyway spent the rest of the day in the com lab doing random stuff, typing, editing, playing, etc. finally left at 6+ after work was allocated for people to complete by tonight (which somehow ernest got everything under his name, LOL).
Today, must be a hell day for bus rides. as if the 2hr ride in the morning wasn't enough, i needed to take another 45 mins to get home from sch, which is normal! but add in 3 hyperactive kids who keep talking at the top if their voices when u have a splitting headache is NOT COOL! i tried to tolerate one kid threatening the other two to cut them using a comb she was holding, and tolerate how the 2 boys were threatening to call her parents or something like that. and it carried on for 15mins NON-STOP!! pissed me off.. even the two guys sitting behind me tried to make 'shhhh' sounds to passively inform them that they were talking too loudly, but to no avail. so i asked them to shut-up, personally, in a nice way, "Please lower your volumes" and they finally quietened down for the rest of my journey to be in peace, with the occasional squabbling still carrying on, but at a much lower volume.
So here i m now, dunno why i'm blogging, supposed to be doing edb, but waiting for every1 to finish wad they're supposed to do, and i'm feeling dam sleepy, and there's a gigantic load of things due tmr, with bio spa tmr, edb presentation and report due wed, 3 best achievements AND math assignment due on thurs, i feel like i'm being bogged down. >.< ZzZzZzZzZzZzZz... did i mention i'm having a headache now? ZzZzZzZzZzZz...

what can i say, today was a really productive day, discussing bout EDB from 330 to 9 >.< brain dead now, can't think straight, tired, sleepy, zzz...
as the days go on
things have started to be concluded as time wears on and we draw nearer and nearer to the final exams.. CCAs have their seasons, or already had, subjects pending completion, enrichment activities have dropped to the bare minimum, etc. However, it juz denotes a start of a different phase in life, the phase where which university u go to would determine ur future, whether its NUS, SMU or Havard, Yale, Priceton or Cambridge, Oxford.
Things have been happening around me that i dun really comprehend... WHY would someone bad mouth you when u have done nothing to agitate that person? WHY is it so easy for a person to be swayed just through a small revealation?
Life isn't as simple as we think it is...
final showdown - May 23rd
The grudge match of these 2 clubs has finally arrived. Just two years after these two clubs have played out the greatest ever Champions League final in Istanbul, they will meet again in Athens on May 23. Will Liverpool edge out AC Milan again, with their heroics? Or would AC Milan exact their revenge on the bitter defeat that Liverpool put them through in the 2005 finals? We'll have to wait and see.
spidey 3
well.. watched spidey 3 today at bishan GV(didn't go for the one yesterday cos i wasn't free). overall, i can't say it was a bad show. in fact, it rocked(doesn't matter what other people think)! the effects were super! characters were cool(though i tot venom should have played a more significant role in the film cos its like dam cool) and action was almost non-stop.. almost.. cept for the few scenes of peter parker's life. If you have not watched it yet, go do it like soon.. black spidey was cool looking, and he acted really kok but venom still looks better than he does with the tadpole shaped eyes and rows of sharp pointy teeth.. hehe =p
The other thing, LIVERPOOL WON!!! woohoo!!! Jose Reina!! woots! bring the other teams on!!
life goes on
darn it, its May. 4 months have past and its another 6 months to the As, which is like half a year only =/ I better start studying properly, especially like CT2 arriving in 1.5 months time(excluding GP), which means technically, <2 weeks per subject.. haiz.. with an upcoming SRP presentation(yes, there still is a presentation, juz that i hav NO idea when or where it'll b taking place) looming in the horizon, things threaten to pill up again by the end of the term. One lucky thing, we managed to settle on an idea for our EDB project(at last!!!), i hope. We have technically <2 weeks to complete a full report on it abnd go on to win the challenge :P think we need all the luck we can get.. haha
Today was great. Today was a day of fun, food and more fun. Anime kicked off the day and met up with a group of 4 friends to play cards(even though almost every1 was late, including the host, so in the end played atmost 1.5 hrs), followed by a trip to Jumbo seafood for dinner. My uncle who works in China is back!!(that's why we went to Jumbo =P) Haven't seen him since like CNY, which was a few months back, wonder when he'll b coming back permanently... He has been coming back to s'pore once every 2-3 months and dun get to see him much, though he takes loads of interest in my studies >.< haha..
well.. 3 day week coming up. Dunno whether to hope the week passes faster or slower. The slower the week passes, the more agonising it is. The faster it does, the nearer we get to the exams.. haiz.. owell.. life goes on.
